A dream I wish it would come true

I had a dream last night.
She's well again.
She was at home.

She slept on my bed.
When I ask her if she feels comfortable, she just give me a smile.

We went shopping together.
She was happy.
I'm glad too.

I could never forget that angelic smile I see in my dream.

I pray that she will get well soon.
I want to see that angelic smile again.

worried

Nonetheless, I'm worried of mom's unusual behavior.

She got her words all mixed up.
She couldn't speak out the name correctly without mixing up with other words.

Dad bought her juice today.
Since she has to lie down, dad gave her drink through a straw.
She's not even sucking through it. Instead, she's blowing.
Her logic is messed up.
And we only thought her mind is disoriented.
Since the other day when she slept through a day, she keep asking "What is the time now?"
And sad to say, this is not the first time she's not sucking from the straw.. even before she was transferred to ICU.
Ever since last Wednesday.

I'm worried.

Day 3 in ICU, we're still not updated of her condition.

Nurse on duty this morning casually forgot to feed mom.
I know she's not suppose to eat, but she could drink.
They did not feed her any drink since last night.
I'm worried.
How is this Intensive Care?

I don't know how I should feel now.
Seriously.
Probably work distraction is working.

But definitely, I'm worried about her condition.
But I could see some improvement yesterday.
But her condition has always been random.
One day she's fine, active, energetic, the next day, she's in critical mode.

Ok, I guess I'm more on confused and worried now.

Just realized, it's Tuesday

It's Tuesday already?

Mom said doctors told her she could be discharged on Monday.. yesterday.
But that was last week.

Well, discharge means?
Back to ICU?
zzz..

Doctor.. how confident are you?

You can't even answer me yesterday.
All you said were "It's complicated. It depends on a lot of factors"

And bro, I'm not asking doctor yesterday about mom's chances..
I'm really referring to the doctor's CONFIDENCE level on getting her well again.
I need some assurance.

again?

Got a call yesterday from dad during my meeting.
"Your mom is back to ICU"

My heart sank.
Why?
The hospital phase is always
ICU to normal ward, normal ward to discharge!

Back to ICU means she's gonna stay longer?
I want mom to be back home!

Doctor said she suddenly got critical.
They'll have to monitor her.
If she still couldn't breathe well, they'll have to put in tube to help with her breathing.
That's their last resort.

Her condition would be critical these 2 days.
Doctor keep saying that her case is critical.
With mom's body so swollen with fluids inside..
doctors would have to release them out so that the water in her stomach bloating her
would not keep pushing towards her diaphragm.
Hopefully she could breathe like normal again.

Mom, I know the oxygen pressure is a little bit too high.
Please be strong.
It hurts me when you keep saying that the oxygen is too cold.
too cold.
Every time you awake from your sleep, the first thing you said is "So cold"
When we're about to leave you after visiting hours, you wanted to stop us.
You said "cold"
It breaks my heart mom.. but please be strong..

Close call

Last Wednesday, I received a message that was the scariest that I ever received. A message from my dad.

That day too, I received a freaky call from my aunt in the noon.

As usual, everyday I would visit my mom at the hospital during my lunch with Jon. She looks fine as my aunt came down from Klang to take care of her.

I went back to my office after visiting and an hour later, I received a call from my aunt. "Jo, can you take half day and come to hospital? Your mom suddenly get seizure and ... (I couldn't hear clearly as I got worried)" Quickly I went to my HR and applied for EL. I couldn't even explain to her when she asked what happened. Rushed all the way to hospital then.

Met my aunt and she told me mom.just got sedated. Apparently the docs were trying a new drug on her and they said it was suppose to help surpress her SLE.

Here goes my aunt's experience. Doctor started the medication at about 2something. My aunt even told my mom "They're putting in new drug for you ok?" "I know". So it started. Not even into one minute. Aunt explained mom was staring at her. Aunt asked if she wants water, mom gave a small nod. So she sip a little from the straw. But she was still staring. Aunt asked again. This time, mom's pupil suddenly looked to her far left edge of her eye (my aunt was sitting on right side).

Aunt quickly called for nurses and doctor and they stopped the medication. Then they lower down the dose and try again. Again, not even one minute, her pupils looked to left again and started to blink her left eye with force and started shouting that she want her doctor. Nurses try to calm her down, my aunt too but my mom insisted and her doctor came and stopped the medication then put her into sedative.

I reached hospital right after that and Doctor explained to me about her condition. He said her the water in her lungs got lesser which was a good news as he compared her scans from first day in ICU and latest one. However, doctor did told me that this drug has side effect, rashes, swelling and dizzy. Mom's was rare case. Other patients who were given this drug only showed those symptoms.

Anyway, later that afternoon they took her to CT Scan.

Bro came. Dad came. Mom was still asleep when I met up with Jon. Soon about an hour later, dad texted me to go stop whatever I'm doing and head back to UH. And the following text says "Doctor said prepare for worse". I rushed over immediately.

Mom was awake. Both my aunt and dad did not tell her what doctor said. Doctor showed my mom's xray and said that her lungs was 90% infected. Only 10% was working fine. Her right side of the brain was swollen and has minor bleeding.

I broke down when dad told me to go out of the ward to explain to me the situation. I couldnt be having mom to see me cried. So I linger at the lobby.

We stayed with her till 11pm. Way past visiting hours. Eric came down all the way from Johor.

We discussed our plan and both Eric and his wife took over to stay overnight when they reached at about 12am+.

We left hospital at 1am and I couldn't sleep well. I anxiously waited for Eric's update. I finally got a text at 4am. Neurologists said mom was stable. As relieved as I was, I still couldnt sleep.

And I still work another half day before I took an EL. I was relieved to see mom sat up and talked to us.

But we're still taking turns to take care of her over the night.

Today is my turn!

Hopefully she'll get better..

Random craving made random adventure

I had a random craving for kangkung last week (well, I crave for lots of food anyway) . So after work, dearie and I went for an adventure to Damansara Uptown's hawker stall to look for sotong kangkung!

It's not like it's famous or what.. It's just the nearest location we could think of to satisfy our craving. Thanks to foursquare. lols.

Not too bad. We order some tauhu bakar as well. Food was just so-so. But my craving were satisfied! :D

Probably there could be another nearer location but we don't know, sadly. It would be great if we could know where is the nearest location for such junk food near Bangsar South City..

Lost World of Tambun

Not so creative with my title.. But anyway, now that I have tiny bit of free time (waiting for my candy crush to recharge. Yes, I'm addicted) let me post up something about my trip to Ipoh last month.

That Saturday got up earlier to meet up with the rest of the group to head over to Lost World of Tambun. Excited as I was, I couldn't sleep even though we left home at 6, slept late on the night before.

On our way, we decided to stop by at Tapah R&R for some light breakfast before heading straight to the theme park. Nothing much to eat there and dearie and I decided to have just nasi lemak as I was told that the place has its brand, expectation of food quality got higher. I was disappointed. Mehhhh..

Anyway, as we arrived,

I was still excited despite the long queue to get in. Lucky we bought our tickets in advance. But it was still quute silly way to go in as the entrance and exit both have to go through their souvenir shop.

Long story short, nothing much to play there. Dry park was just so-so with less ride, I enjoyed most of the water rides. Although it wasn't as much. There's different types of hot spring where we spent most of our time there. We chilled most of our time at the "sea" area and the "river" area (I don't know the exact name). If I have to go again next time, I would probably brainwash the group to go for rides first. The queue was quite long when we decided to go for rides after a half day spent in the park.

After that, we checked in to our hotel and rested and head out again for dinner at local town. Nope, we didn't go for the chicken rice although it's the town's famous delicacy. We went for fried noodles instead. It was good :)

Then we head over to Tong Sui Kai, literally a street where there's mny hawker stalls selling dessert! I had my mixed fruit abc.

We then head over to the end of the street to get some Ramly burger before heading back to our hotel to consume them. Played soms games and we called it a night.

The next day, we went for dim sum. All dim sum restaurants were packed! We have to queue or stand next to the table just because there's no any empty table. It was that bad because the more famous dim sum restaurant were closed on that day. No wonder everyone scattered to every other dim sum restaurant nearby.

We managed to find a place after waited for some time. Although the servers were all busy and we have to do things self service, but we were satisfied with the food.

We had so little for a stomach of 7. Anyway, we went over to buy some food souvenir and then to buy tau fu fah and soya bean at Funny Mountain. I heard it was good since long time ago from my uni housemate. Finally I got the chance to try them.

Another place to queue. But it was worth it! We then head over to another similiar shop where it was run by 3 sisters. We ordered soya bean with mixture of flavoured sugar like ginger, black sugar, gula melaka.. to satisfy our cravings. Another good place.

Then we went to have the famed yong tau foo at a place locally named "Big Tree Trunk" or something like that(I'm bad at direct translating). I met a friend's sister there. HAHA. Such a small world.

The food was good but we were too full to finish them. That was the last of the Ipoh trip as we head back to home after that.

It was good. But the next trip not gonna be so soon as I'm broke. sobs.
