Last weekend we drove all the way to Johor for an ex colleague's wedding dinner.
So that morning, started off with meeting up at KLCC and off we go to Imbi Pasar for breakfast.
Poh said the coffee there was nice. And indeed! It was!
We sat under the tent and the owner was quite cocky. Probably because they know they're good.
And so was the 'Chee cheong fun' there.
Jon and I wanted to order 2 'noodles' each.
But since the owner only had few left and there's a queue behind us, he insisted we order for one.
Which we did anyway.
It was good too. A good recommendation from Poh.
Anyway, after the breakfast, We parted to two separate cars, Kelvin, Jon and I went to Poh's car, Med, Chloe and WK went to Botak's car.
Here's the interesting part.
We were initially following each other's car. Botak was behind us. Then after we've come to agreement to meet at the next tol exit.
It's much easier that way.
Then along the way, they said they saw Botak's car bypass Poh's. I didn't noticed it. Strange. I wasn't even asleep during the whole trip.
Anyway, we continued chatting along the way.. when we received text and calls from Botak's side that they have already exitted the tol and were waiting for us.
So then we continued on our journey and
gossip chat, and we actually missed the exit and was heading towards Skudai!
Luckily Poh saw the signboard and felt strange. So I checked Google Map and indeed we were 87km away from Kluang town. Most likely 70km+- away from the supposed highway exit.
Lol. We couldn't stop laughing and was taking it as a karma due to our
gossip chat.
And so we told Botak to go ahead to check in first.
Then as we reached the town, Botak told us that they were at Railway Coffee branch. And even send me the location. So we navigated with the location he gave. Somehow.. it leads to the original Railway Coffee.
We stopped. But we couldn't find them.
Then only we learned that they were at the branch one.
So we decided to meet up only at the hotel, thus settle down and ordered some good so that Kelv could have his medicine.
The drinks were good. Not especially good. I kinda like the nasi lemak. Classicly wrapped. But it was quite spicy for me. The bun was nice too.
Then we head over to look for our hotel. But we got lost because Google Map is showing us a location where the hotel does not exist. That location of the hotel from the map is leading us to school.
After a few rounds, dearie made a manual search and finally we manage to bring ourselves to the hotel.
We checked in and prepared to leave for the wedding dinner.
The girls got their own room and so does the guys.
I didn't manage to camwhored as I was shy. Haha!
But I did manage to have some from Chloe's camera.
Then we left and head over to the wedding venue. It was quite difficult to navigate as it was raining cats and dogs.
And outside the restaurant, so happen they too have a talk session by BN people later that night. So the parking space were taken.
Regardless, we manage settle down in the hall.
I took a few camwhores with dearie!
And so the lights were dimmed and it began with the bride and groom walkin in..
And the wedding dinner began.
Later, Serene came over to take photo with us and we saw a random panda costumed man walking into the hall. Serene looked puzzled too.
Then I realized the Panda was from the talk outside.
I saw the 1Malaysia logo on its tummy.
zzz. Just wondering how could politic stuff crash into people's private party?
When it has eneded, both he bride and the groom went outside and to thank the guests and we too wanted to carry out our evil plan to make serene cry.
But we failed. D:
We head back to our hotel after congratulating the newlywed and wash up to prepare for our drinking session in the hotel.
We had a little game and of course, the obvious, the loser will hav to drink.
Simple game such as pick a card, put it up to the forehead where u cant see your own card, then if u think ur card is safe, pour more beer to the glass. And when it's final, we put down our cards and see if we lose or win.
It was fun time.
I had fun.
Despite getting tipsy.
Serene and hubby came over too later that night and joined us for 2rounds of quick game and head back.
We finished the whole carton and head back to our rooms.
I had a good sleep.
The next.morning we tried out Botak Curry Noodle which was nearby the restaurant where Serene had her wedding dinner.
Taste wise.. quite normal. Nothing too special about it. But better than having nothing for breakie.
Heading home after the breakfast we reminded ourselves about karma again and made fun about it. This time we manage to get to the right route. HAHA.
It was indeed a fun trip.
A getaway indeed.
^__^
Congratulations, Serene!
